Construction updates, road closures and other important info will be featured below throughout the project.
Due to grading issues and underlying material conditions with current pavement, more extensive roadway removal is needed on South Front Street between Sackett Avenue and Grant Avenue than originally planned.
To ensure the work is completed quickly and efficiently, traffic will be temporarily restricted to one-way northbound only on Front Street between Sackett Avenue and Grant Avenue beginning Monday, June 30, through Friday, July 11.
Southbound traffic will be detoured via Sackett Avenue → Second Street → Grant Avenue.
Access to all businesses and public parking lots will remain open during this time. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve the South Front Street corridor.
Street construction will begin on South Front Street Monday, May 19, as part of the South Front Street Streetscape. Work will take place near the Superior Auto location and move south toward the American Legion Hall. The sidewalk, and curb on the east side of the street will be excavated within this area. Access to all businesses will be maintained.
On-street parking continues to be prohibited in the affected area. Ample off-street parking is available. A map of free public parking locations in Downtown Cuyahoga Falls is available at:
The City of Cuyahoga Falls has announced a traffic pattern change on Front Street between Broad Boulevard and Grant Avenue, effective Tuesday, April 15, due to ongoing construction on South Front Street.
During this project phase, northbound lanes will be closed, and on-street parking will be prohibited in the affected area. North and south bound traffic will be maintained by shifting both directions of travel to the west side of Front Street.

Construction will soon begin on South Front Street from Grant Avenue to Broad Boulevard.
Preliminary sanitary sewer videoing and survey work took place in Fall 2024. Starting the week of January 13, work will begin on sewer repair. This work will not affect the flow of traffic.
At the end of January, the new traffic pattern will begin. The east side of S. Front Street will close (Sheraton Suites side) and remain closed for several months. All traffic in both directions will be maintained on the west side of S. Front St. There will be no on-street parking. Notices will be distributed when the closure occurs.
Access to all businesses, including driveways and sidewalks will be maintained.
The list of available public parking lots and decks can be found on the project and City websites.
During late spring most of the work will be finished on the east side of S. Front St. Then traffic will flip to the east side while the west side is reconstructed. It is anticipated the project will be completed in Fall 2025.
Construction is anticipated to start in early September.
